I wanted to add text into every message sent to a mailing list that essentially says:

**PLEASE NOTE**: Clicking 'reply' will send a message seen by the ENTIRE listserve. To reply to an individual, be sure to send a separate email or correct the address in the "To:" field.

I found the 'change list and digest settings' page in direct admin, but, I'm not 100% sure where to put the text (or if any of those will do it), i.e.

List Information
Taboo Body
Taboo Header
(I don't know what Taboo things are)
Message Footer
Message Fronter
Message Header

I added text to Footer, Fronter, and Header and it didn't seem to show up in the text of the message, but, rather was embedded in the email details....

Any input is appreciated, thanks.

The message footer is the right place to make the change, according to the instructions in the list configuration file.

Are you trying this with html messages? Majordomo was not designed to accommodate html messages, and this is one of the problems with them.

I can send them as plain text messages and yes, be able to use footer, but, sooner or later, someone will reply with HTML.

Is there a better listserve device?

Yes. Not included in DirectAdmin. Probably hundreds of them.

One (commercial license) is called Listserv and it's where the generic term listserv without the e comes from.

Another good one is Mailman. Both of the above must be installed serverwide. You can also find many web-based email list managers that can be installed on a per-domain basis; googling for majordomo replacement could be very helpful :) .

Many will have their own issues with html text, though. Email was never designed for html, and there's no easy way to add a footer to the end of an html message because there's no easy way to determine programatically exactly where an html message will end. Really.
