DA rocks! I'm migrating from cPanel - any tips for that and just new DA users in general?

I've used cPanel since at least 2000, but the latest price increase forced me to seek alternatives. I was looking at possibly shared hosting (ick), but with all my domains and sites I host for friends, it was NOT a great option.

I checked out DirectAdmin a few times, most recently something like a year or so ago. It wasn't for me. At least, not yet.

But I gave it another try, and wow am I glad I did. So much of what's changed makes it an absolute JOY to use. For example, the basically one-click ability to update MX records to point to Gmail - the ease of getting Let'sEncrypt SSL set up - the ease of logging into a reseller user and logging out to go back up a level..... I love it!

So I was wondering two things:

1. Any tips for a new DirectAdmin server admin? Things you've found to add or change or set up? Whatever makes your life easier and better. :)

2. Any tips on migration from cPanel? Right now I'm using rsync and wpcli (for WP sites). When I get done with WordPress, I have to google how to export and import SQL via BASH - which I haven't had to do in years. lol. But anything that can make life even easier is welcome.

Also, thank you to DirectAdmin for really stepping up and making things better and better! I'm sure it's not perfect, but man, I haven't run into any problems yet. Just differences from cPanel that sometimes take a little bit to get used to. But seriously, this thing just feels RIGHT and GREAT to use. :)

If you don't have many sites, I always prefer to migrate each of them manually one-by-one.

Also:

Export: mysqldump -p -u username database_name > dbname.sql

Import: mysql -p -u username database_name < file.sql

Welcome to the community!
Thank you for the warm welcome and great links!

Oh no, you're supporting my laziness! Ah, that looks familiar. Haven't done that in forever. lol. Thank you for that!

And so far, it's going very very well. Not hard at all. And I haven't found anything in DirectAdmin that I don't just love.

Little things like logging into users and logging out and finding myself back in my admin account. Slick. Love it!
