Just got my first DA control panel.

Not sure if this is an Apache or domain name question. I'll go for it here. Move it if it doesnt fit.

How do I get my server to direct domain1.tld to sharedIP/~domain1, and domain2.tld to sharedIP/~domain2. Right now I have a few domains, but I can only point them to one site on the one IP.

I only have one IP, but want a few sites on the server. I transfered the sites, and they now work on sharedIP/~domainX - but how do I get the domain to call the correct site?

Again, sorry if this is out of place. Not only new to Directadmin ;)

Kind regards.

sharedIP/~domain1

This is not a normal way of accessing a web site. Normally you would just enter the domain in the browser. I don't know why you would want to do it like that.

Thats exactly what I want to.

The sites have been placed on the server as per Directadmin - I can call each of the sites with the IP and the folder extension - I just want to use the domain.

Anyway - I think I may have done something right. www.domain1.tld gets the correct site up sharedIP/~site1 ... and hold the domain in the adress bar. But if I type http://domain1.tld it calls correctly but then I see sharedIP/~domain1 in the browsers adress line - which doesnt look to funky.

Still looking for the correct way of resolving shared ip issues correctly - and perhaps someone could explain why http://www. stays while http:// doesnt.

If you create the domain as example.com, then DA should create the proper settings in the included httpd.conf file, for both www.example.com and example.com to resolve.

Did you?

How about letting us know the domain name so we can test?

Jeff what was that link again to the page about not obscuring dns, ip addresses, and domains? I think that should be required reading before you are allowed to post. Anybody who obscures these should not have their questions answered.

Floyd, I actually posted it twice yesterday; I guess I should have posted it three times :) .

It's here.
