I have a few DA servers but there are in various versions.
There are already some clients in each server.
How can I upgrade DA version without any change to our clients?
(in every aspects, eg, POP3, pop3 webmail, IMAP, IMAP webmail, SMTP etc)

How should I plan? How should I do?

Thank you

Stanley

DirectAdmin can simply be upated through DirectAdmin and there shouldn't be any effect on your users. The other services on the other hand you'll have to do some research on. Most, if not all, standard DirectAdmin programs have been covered. Howto upgrade, best practices etc.

And you can find upgrade instructions on pretty much all officially supported services scattered throughout the forums.

I have changed exim.conf, httpd.conf etc before.
Will the update action change my current config?

I just want to upgrade DA only, all other services (http, ftp, email, webmail) don't change.

It depends on the script you are using. All that I know of do not update the configuration files and leave you to recheck those.

As far as i know, updating DirectAdmin through the control panel only updates DirectAdmin, not apache, proftpd, exim etc.

You can also do a manual upgrade if you prefer: http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=29

If you download update.tar.gz and look inside it you can see what files will be updated.
