DA will not work now

I am unable to get to direct admin using :2222

when i goto the IP and :2222 it will not work

It was working just yesterday... and nothing has been added or installed on the server.

I even tried to reboot... no luck. I checked w/ the data center to see if they blocked 2222, and they didnt.

I checked my license, it's still active...

What do I do?

Are you still able to ssh in to your server? Check to see if the DA daemon is running. Perhaps try restarting it to see what happens.

Other experienced DA users here may have better suggestions.

Yup

I have sshed into the box, and checked the demon.

I received an email this morning that CI HOST did block port 2222.

They did this with out warning which is not good.

I have reset the port to another port that was open and DA works fine.

Does anyone currently host with CIHOST? if so, what are your opions about this company?

In my opion they should not be blocking ports to colocated servers with out notifying the individual first and requesting permission.

I know they do block ICMP packets by default, but blocking ports when they feel they want to is not a proper way of doing business.

I don't use CIHost.

I believe that no colocation center should block any ports without advance notice.

I believe that blocking a port is a definite violation of your contract.

I believe I won't host in any center that blocks any ports. The colo center's job is to connect me to the Internet.

My job is to secure my servers, and run them as I see fit.
