For what it's worth I just updated a CentOS4 test server and it works fine.

What OS Distribution are you running?

Hello,

Log into your https://www.directadmin.com/clients account, and view the license in question. Check to see which OS the license is set to.
You'll want to see Fedora 7 (since we don't have a Fedora 8 build system).

You can always email your license info to us and we can take a look as well.

Also, you might want to try updating the binaries, in case they got broken during the update:

You'll probably just want to send us an email with your license ID info & IP. We can see what is being called to us so we can tell you how to adjust what you're entering. We can also see if anything is expired or wrong IP, etc..
