data center can't send email

Directadmin exim & vm-pop3d
i can send & receive email use webmail..
but when i use outlook ....can't send email OUT , just can receive.
any idea ?......use for long time no prolbem....just today can't send email

And what error do you get?

Your internet provider is probably blocking port 25 which is used for sending mail outbound.

If scsi is correct (he probably is) then you should try using port 587 (don't forget that it needs plaintext authorization set up in Outlook) instead.

Most ISPs won't block port 587.

And even if they do block 587 you can set up exim to listen on other ports.

All of which they may block, floyd. The nice thing about port 587 is it's almost universally recognized as the email submission port and is least likely to be blocked.

I am just saying don't give up if an isp is blocking both 25 and 587. You can try others.
