a short while ago, a site started experiencing "too many connections"
now its happening more and more, and now more than one site, I turned off "allow persistant connection" and it seemed to slow things for a while.
Now its hard to control who runs what script and I have seen this error caused by scripts not properly closing connections when done, ..
What can I do to keep these db connections a level that wont interfere with the functioning of the server/sites. I was told of a "db tier rewrite' was in order but I am not sure of this or if this would be the cure....
