Database problems

My friend can't seem to login to the database. We have the database name, username, and pass. He's tried using the post 2222, the site's IP, and nothing. What's the problem?

How is he trying to login? Script? Windows client? phpMyAdmin? 2222 does not have anything to do with mysql and definitely should not be used for mysql access. 2222 is for DA access only.
