dataskq running wild

Hello,

Everyday when I look at top, I see dataskq running out of control. It's run for a couple hours usually, running my cpu at 100%. If I go a couple of days, my load gets over 7, and there are a bunch of them running.

I've had to kill the processes to keep my box under control. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and what I can do to keep it under control?

Also, this isn't happening on my other boxes that have identical hardware and software configs except that this one is running php 4 instead of 5.

Thanks!

Check (and perhaps post) the contents of your /usr/local/directadmin/data/task.queue file.

You may need to delete it completely if it's got something incorrect in it.

/usr/local/directadmin/data/task.queue

this file doesn't exist. Is it only created when dataskq is running?

It's created when DirectAdmin (or an administrator) echos something to it. The task queu, which runs every minute, simply runs all the jobs in the file.

It's possible the problem won't occur again.

Hmm, it didn't happen today.

I'm wondering if it was tallying bandwidth for the month, and it was taking forever, but today (start of the new month) doesn't have much to check so it's not. This happened consistently for the last 10 or so days (the end of the month).

Is this possible?

Thanks.

Since you've deleted the running process there's no way to see what it was trying to do.

Of course, as I've said before, anything is possible ;) .

I'm experiencing similar problem: dataskq is taking nearly 100% of CPU.

I was wondering if this bug (http://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=799) caused the problem but I just updated DA and problem still exists.

Since you've deleted the running process there's no way to see what it was trying to do.

We deleted dataskq process yesterday to ease up loads but it appeared (was started by system?) this morning running again wildly.

How do I find out what it is trying to do while running?

If you stop the dataskq process DA won't work.

Have DirectAdmin support look into the problem.

I came across a problem on the dataskq

Who can help me, each time for 24 points, after China, dataskq on the implementation of a daily basis, each more than 2 hours, how to pause it every day to run???

Thank you for me to explain

Please do not double-post. I'm sorry but I don't understand your question will enough to respond.
