Default domain setup

I'm lost. I've been using cpanel for a long time, but decided to try DA.

My expectation has been that after setting up the server you would define a main or default account.

I added a first user and a domain. Now whenever I go to Domain setup instead of getting a list of existing domains, I simply get a Create Domain page with a message saying there is no default domain and I should create one.

I tried to add the first domain again and get a warning it already exists.

Please let me know how to setup a default domain. I've search with no luck.

You might have run into an issue which can be caused when you don't wait long enough.

So hence my question.
I presume this is a new server. On a new server DA is installed very quickly, but the rest is installed in the background. You will get a notification of that in the message system that all background tasks are completed.

Did you by any change already added the user and the domain before this installation was fully ready? If yes, then that is the problem.

Best is to wait until you have gotten this message.

So to fix the issue now, if you have gotten the message that everything is finished, I would log in as admin again. Then if all is well, you do have a list of users. Delete the user you created, and then if all is correct, also the domain which is somewhere in the system is deleted too.

After that, create the user again. Login as the user and then you should be able to create the domain for the user.

It also depends on which license you have. If you have a personal plus license, then don't create a user. In Directadmin the user admin is also a user. In that case login as admin, then use the selection for "user" to go to user level. In grid display it's on the upper right hand somewhere.
And then there create your domain.
