Dear Forum Members,

I would like to disable mail for newly created domains. Currently, this must be disabled parately for each added domain here: E-mail Manager / MX-Records by unchecking "Use this server to handle my e-mails. If not, change the MX records and uncheck this option.".

Unfortunately, so far I have not found a description of where this should be made the default. Since we use an external email server, this would be the ideal setting for me.

Thanks,
Balazs

You can find it in the docs:

Also if you have a default external mailserver, you can change the MX template for it.
Copy the /usr/local/directadmin/data/templates/dns_mx.conf to the /usr/local/directadmin/data/templates/custom/ directory. If this directory does not exist, just create it.
In the custom directory, edit this file to your needs. And after that on new domain creation, it will have the new mx record.

Awesome, it works as expected! Thanks a lot!
