For a refresh DA server, how about the values which are not existed in directadmin.conf? For example, notify_on_mass_emailing.
Following this https://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=1645, the default value of notify_on_mass_emailing is 1, but that variable is not existing in directadmin.conf.

Do I need to add it? Or will it just work?

You can add variables to the conf file with no problems. It's up to DA to use them or not.
