i would like to know how do you maintain your emails account by allowing it to delete any mail older than 3 days automatially.(or watever the the number of days is.)
thnks.

You can do this using Microsoft Outlook.
When creating a new mail account under advanced options.

1. Go to Tools | Accounts.
2. Select the account you would like to change and click Properties.
3. Select the Advanced tab along the top.
4. Finally, check the box at the bottom by "Leave a
copy of messages on server."

Greetings

thnks thth was helpfull.

But what if i din want to use outlook or thunderbird or any other POP mail downloader.

I want the server to manage it... on the server itself.

if there is no other solution than im afraid according to what you have said i need to leave one pc turned on 24 hurs a day to do just that.

I dont know about that (letting the server handle it) in my eyes this is really a user level issue .. you might have set up a cronjob and delete your mail once a 3 days. But then again thats only a idea

I think Just once in the morning is enaugh.
With pop client you can set it to download only header this will reduce the traffic and time.

Do you want to do this on every pop account on the server or just a few of your account?

These are great suggestions if i intend to use Outlook, or thunderbird

however the onnly reason i do this is because i do not want the info@domain .com to take up mail space.

after [email protected] forwards the emails to the respective 3 users .. user1, user2 and [email protected]

there is no longer any use for [email protected] to retain its previous received mails.

i only ask this as i cannot find this feture from the cpanel and hope that there is an alternative. ; )

butif the features of this cpanel do not allow it in contrast to what i have expereince with other more advance cpanel.

ill have to make do with any alternatives or suggestionsu may have. Outlook is a last resort. And dowwnloading the headers only is also a good idea. thnx for tht suggestion. after which i may delete the 3 day old mails via outlook's feature as well.

Thanks for all the constructive suggestions guys ~!
