We are happy to announce the release of DirectAdmin 1.670.

This release continues with the UI updates. In this release, the Sidebar layout was updated, the search feature now supports keyboard shortcuts, CustomBuild has experimental PHP 8.4 support, and supports more PHP extensions.

A full release change log is here:

DirectAdmin 1.671

The update should be automatically available for all installations subscribed to the current release channel.

We appreciate all the feedback on forums and issues reported in the ticketing system.

Thanks!

database export not working - getting mx 20Mbit/sec and after a few minutes i get network error - also the new search line is not usable for example if i look for a user i have to first go to show all users then set a filter - before it was simple with the search line under the menue - how can i downgrade to

Version 1.669 ?

version 1.670 - database export is working as usual. but the new "search for pages" is not usable as mentioned above

@Migratecpanel I do not really understand your post:
  • You start by saying that DB export does not work but finish the post by saying it actually works. Could you please clarify in which version and what actions lead to DB export not working?
  • The search has changed in DA 1.670 and in DA 1.671, this thread is for changes that come with DA 1.671. It seems like your question about the revert to 1.669 should target the DA 1.670 release thread. Not this one. Anyway, this release improves the user search. To try it out switch the update channel to current and upgrade to DA 1.671. Version 1.671 makes the search work similar to what was in the 1.669 version.

If you want to change a TXT - SPF record via mobile or any responsive device, it is impossible to save it, the modal popup does not scroll all the way to the bottom where the save button is located. This has been going on for a long time by the way, but I thought I'd report it, it would be nice if this is possible.

Is it the intention that the "flashing icon" is gone when doing install/custombuild?

Now it is not visible to see if it is still running (unless i go to custombuild -> logs ) also it was a nice shortcut to the running log file.

Think it is since 1.670 but seems also to be missing on this new 1.671 release.

We are happy to announce the release of DirectAdmin 1.670.

Hello,

It seems we can not change ON/OFF status of custom items from /usr/local/directadmin/data/admin/custom_package_items.conf when modifying users details in DirectAdmin. I need to modify user.conf manually to switch values. Kindly advice.

@Stije, yes, the removal of the Bell icon for CB tasks was intentional. When it was introduced, we expected to use it for other long-running tasks as well, but it was never actually used for anything except CB. We decided to drop it and make the UI simpler. In the future, if we have more long-running tasks that support progress tracking, we might introduce something similar.

@zEitEr, thanks for the report. However, we are unable to reproduce the problem. Using custom package items and updating them in the User Modify window works as expected. It would be great if you would open a support ticket and we could investigate if this is something server-specific.

Thank you for checking. OK, I will check it once again, and open a ticket whenever it's required.

Meanwhile PHP 8.4 when building, as it seems, requires --with-pear in order to get pear/pecl binaries installed.

Is anyone experiencing an issue with the File Manager when you click "Edit in a new tab" it just opens a blank page?

If you click "Edit", it works properly.

Using DirectAdmin 1.671 w/Evolution and Chrome browser.

An update is released with the following fixes:
  • Fixed FileManager menu action "Edit in new tab" to work as expected. Thanks @SimpleSonic.
  • Updated PHP versions. The PHP 8.4 release is no longer RC but version 8.4.1.
  • PHP compile script will enable pear/pecl, thanks @zEitEr

Did something change regarding to the PHP processes? After the last update (including the PHP updates) I'm receiving many notifications from LFD about suspicious processes, like:

Code:
Time: Tue Nov 26 10:53:40 2024 +0100
PID: 622229 (Parent PID:398096)
Account: redacted
Uptime: 68 seconds

Executable:

/usr/local/php83/bin/lsphp

Command Line (often faked in exploits):

lsphp:redacted/private_html/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

@JosKlever, with the hot-fix release only the PHP version number got changed. However in DA 1.671 the PHP binaries are no longer using the version suffix, so main lsphp binary is in /usr/local/php83/bin/lsphp and not in /usr/local/php83/bin/lsphp83. The old path is a symlink for backwards compatibility.

The file /etc/csf/csf.pignore needs to be adjusted to ignore false-positives - PHP execution without the version suffix. The notification can be ignored, we will make sure to silence it. Thanks!

I added the second line to csf.pignore indeed and the notifications stopped (the original first was there already):
Code:
pexe:/usr/local/php../bin/lsphp..
pexe:/usr/local/php../bin/lsphp

A new build 40d857591b4a0044cafccc0ae21e54692aa43dc6 is relased, it only adds an additional step to make sure /etc/csf/csf.pignore is updated. This avoids the false-positive notifications as reported by @JosKlever.

@fln

We're currently using 1.671 (40d857591b4a0044cafccc0ae21e54692aa43dc6) and the "Edit in a new tab" in File Manager still produces a blank page.

Tested on multiple browsers, cleared cache, etc.

🤦‍♂️. You are right @SimpleSonic. We were planning to include this fix in the release, but it was accidentally not actually included. Thanks for pointing it out. A new build with ID efccf013fdfb99bde3d45532090d73ff5d99e860 is released. This one should really include the fix.

Sorry for the inconvenience 🙇‍♂️.
