Hello Everyone,

Can anyone tell me if they have installed OpenFire on a DirectAdmin Server in the past? OypenFire is an Instant Messaging platform that runs on your server and supports all OSes. (Linux, Mac, Windows) I guess it has been 6-7 years ago now. I had it installed on a DirectAdmin Server but I didn't install it myself and I don't want to make an attempt at doing so now without first getting some feedback from the DirectAdmin Community.I don't want to break anything because I have clients on the server.

Here is a link to the software package to which I refer: https://www.igniterealtime.org/projects/openfire/ Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Please let me know.

Thanks!

If the packages require apache as a dependency you cannot install it from a package, you will need to compile the source.

It will require probably (not sure, never used), some customization on the initial setup to point to the right libraries.

Beside that, it shouldn't be that complicated, i've googled just a little "How to OpenFire DirectAdmin" and some informations comes out, so probably someone already did, but so far i wasn't able to find a proper How-To.

If you don't feel safe on installing new softwares on the Server (or simply if you don't have enough knoledge/experience on server management) you may want/need to hire someone to do that for you.

Me, Zeiter and other members of the forum offer those kind of services.

Best regards
