DirectAdmin automatic yearly renewal for Personal license

Hello,
Long time ago i did buy a license for a customer (24$/Year), he used for a couple of mo only, and i complet forget about it.

Today i just receive a call from my bank noticed me there its a 24$ suspect payment made witch i didnt not confirm it with security code or 3d secure and if i didnt made it to call back and the back will make investigation...etc

So i started to dig where those money go, and i finaly founded because of the name tranzaction on bank: Comerciant: DIRECTADMIN.COM, CA,+15879214476 (23/03/2022 09:29)

So i called back at the bank, i told them i founded the payment but i didnt get any notice regarding it, and the bank sayed its ilegal to take money from my account and not receiving a notice before the payment was made.

Its this legal ? Let me tel you, NO, NOT AT ALL.

I didnt receive any notice regarding the incoming payment, no mail, no nothink, just took money from my account.

How its this posible for DirectADmin to do this ? I search all my DirectAdmin account to remove my credit card details and i dont even fiind a way to remove them, how its posible to store my credit card details and just take money from it ?

On any other license we have, cpanel, cloudlinux......etc they send us a notice regarding the upcoming payment.

$24/year is an automatic annual renewal, but you have full control over it:

1) Login to your /clients area

2) Click the license to modify

3) On the "Subscription" line, click "Info"

From here, you can update your card information, or cancel the subscription for that license. Some people cancel the subscription right away, because they only want 1 year. Others leave it alone, so they don't have to remember to renew a year later.

If you PM me your license ID# I can refund this new charge, as you are not intending to use the software for another year.

But before renewal you have to send a notice to customer, before x days of payment like all providers do, read laws

You might want to read laws yourself or maybe the law in your country is different than in DA's country.
If it's been stated that it will be an automatic recurring payment which you can stop at any time, at the time you create your contract, then at that point you agree to the recurring payment and the law is satisfied.
Since you can stop it at any time, the law is fullfilled.

And no, not all providers send mail... loads of subscribtions only send only invoice when payment is already done.
