I have been having trouble setting up Directadmin backups.
There is a 2 part issue, how to setup the FTP server and how to setup the FTP client.
Basically all services are moving away from plain text to encrypted but for what ever reason the default Directadmin option likes plain unencrypted ftp. There's not necessarily an issue supporting plain ftp but it should be a fall back and not default.
On the ftp server end, you follow some online tutorial on how to setup pure ftp / pro ftp etc.... Test it with filezilla, it works. Then come to Directadmin enter the information and get all kind of errors.
There really should be a straight forward solution to this problem in a guide.
Part 1: How to setup a server for Directadmin Backups [centos/debian/ubutunu etc...]
Part 2: How to setup a Directadmin for Backups daily/weekly/monthly
The options should be FTP over TLS if available and Plain FTP as a fall back.
Is there something like this?
