Hello there,
i would like to know,
if its possible to install DirectAdmin on a FreeBSD 5.4(64bit) 'box'?
( its not an 'AMD64bit' its an Pentium-D DualCore-64Bit ).

Thanks Ahead,
Vortex.

which kernel type is FreeBSD using? ia64 or amd64?

uname -m to find out

if its amd64, then I would expect it to work, however I can give no guarantee

Intel I believe have released some processors which can do 64bit and 32bit, this style of technology is still called amd64 by the FreeBSD community though.

if you know your motherboard chipset then you can check here
http://www.freebsd.org/platforms/amd64/motherboards.html
to see if its considered amd64

or here
http://www.freebsd.org/platforms/ia64/machines.html
if its an ia64 type system

IA64 is unable to handle 32-bit binaries

All that said, you might want to give this a read

All that said I am going be having to install DirectAdmin on a amd64 FreeBSD 6.0 box soon, which I am slowly coming to dread. With respect to FreeBSD support DA are lagging behind, it seems nearly all CP's want to get FedoCentHat linux support as a priority
