Some one please help ?!?!?

I've got 2 DA boxes on the monthly license plan. The message system sent me a message saying that there has been an error updating the license file and I have 23 hrs left before the panel automatically locks itself?

I'm all paid up, as I do every month, I've contacted DA but no answer!

This is the message:

This is an automated message notifying you that an error has occurred while trying to update the license file.
The generated message is as follows:

New License is invalid: Unable to read the contents of the license

Please contact JBMC-Software, including the error message. Failure to do so could result in an inactive control panel.

DirectAdmin - are you there? I don't want my users to find they can't access their control panels. What did I do wrong???????

DA is sort of notorious for being hard to get a hold of by phone and through the forum. But I've had good luck with the email [email protected] most people that communcate with DA recommend this as well. Have you tried it?

Good luck:(

We'll I don't know how big their budget is, but if they want to hold all their customers. It would be a good idea to have someone answering the phone for sales/support related for licenses. They could just give more people access to their license system to change the OS type. Some automated system that will automaticaly change it for you. Let's say 1 time every 24 hours you have the ability to change.

Another way is to put some ICT company's in some countries on the payroll for support throught email/phone.

But offcourse the new license system would solve that, so the clients get support @ the company they bought it from.

Im getting the exact same error msg today. No reply from DA, but I just emailed the a couple of hours ago. They are usually good at replying to emails.

I have my DA license through Layeredtech, and I'm sure they've paid.

I got a reply to my email:

I took a look and the licenses seem ok on this end. Sometimes our system
waits until the very last moment to update (hence taking the license to
expiry at times) but each license has a 5 day grace built in so you would
never suffer downtime.

However, if your panel is setup to be accessed securly (httpS:2222) then you
may have to manually update your license through the admin panel ever so
often as universal updates can only occur on one standard (non-SSL) port.

It seems to have updated just in the nick of time. My servers are both set up to be accessed securely but I've never had this problem before with licenses. I *have* had to update DA manually because of this though. Maybe a recent update to DA has caused this.

Also, when all is said and done, they did respond pretty quickly to my email - I was panicing because there was less than 24hrs to go!

Thanks DA. We all know you're busy but you still pull through in the end. The price of soaring popularity I guess!

Sincerely,

A very happy customer :D
