DirectAdmin stopping automatic FTP creation

Hi,

I have this game panel which makes users with game servers which creates FTP accounts for that user but DirectAdmin stops this process because it doesn't allow System Users or something.

I was wondering if theres anything I can do? I asked the company who made the game panel but there's no workaround that they can give me. So I hope you can help me with this otherwise I spent money on a DA license for nothing :/

Since you didn't tell us the name of game panel we're only guessing, but if the game panel is meant to run the server, then it won't be compatible with DirectAdmin, and even if not, if it requires specific paths, etc.

That said, DirectAdmin certainly does allow creation of ftp accounts for system users; they just need to be created properly, and the directory paths to which you'd upload need to be readable by those users.

The game panel i'm using is GameCP (gamecp.com)

Even if I try to make the FTP account manually under it's own dic it comes back with

'That is not a valid path. Either it is not in your home directory, it doesn't exist, it contains symbolic links, or it contains invalid characters'

If I select the custom option and change it to something like /home/myuser thats the error I get.

DirectAdmin makes no statement of compatibility with GameCP, so it would be hard to find support for it on these forums and it probably won't be supported by DirectAdmin.

However since GameCP does (gamecp.com) claim support of DirectAdmin, I'd expect that you could get support from them.

I never noticed that before, i'll certainly try and get them to help me if they say it's meant to run fine with DirectAdmin.
