We are happy to announce the release of DirectAdmin 1.672.

This release continues with the UI updates, with the upgrade of Standard layout we have finished refreshing all supported layouts. The release also includes a series of smaller fixes and improvements.

A full release change log is here:

DirectAdmin 1.672

The update should be automatically available for all installations subscribed to the current release channel.

We appreciate all the feedback on forums and issues reported in the ticketing system.

Thanks!

Not relate to this change.. but on mobile mode, File Manager still look bad when edit some file then it automatics zoom in and hard to zoom out 😥

Thanks @Ohm J. We are slowly working on integrating FileManager as part of the Evolution. It used to be a completely separate application, which got quite outdated over time.

Once FM is fully integrated in Evolution, it will use UI components from the Evolution skin and should have better support for different device sizes. This is not something that we will fix with a hotfix. I expect the next release to have more improvements in this area.

In this release we have migrated the FM notification system (for example, when a new file is created) to be the same system as used by the main Evolution application.

Just noticed on updates from 1.671 to 1.672, ConfigServer Security & Firewall plugin is now getting an error:

Security Error: Invalid parent
Information saved to [/var/lib/csf/da1733843639.error]

The workaround for this issue is touch /var/lib/csf/csf.da.skip as explained in the error file. The change in how DA executes plugin script have slightly changed and triggered this rather strange CSF check. The real fix for the issue will have to be made by the CSF plugin creators (disable the parent process name detection).

OK that worked just fine. I saw the message in the log, just was surprised by the change in behaviour and if this was to be expected. I have tested it on a couple servers and it does indeed prevent the error. Thank you.

Why the removal of hybrid option? It was BY FAR the best option as a template for all users, the easiest to use, the cleanest and the most user-friendly. Who is DirectAdmin listening to?

This happens for both MSFE and CSF, both from Config Server. This works for CSF, but not for MSFE.
MSFE is the spam.virus service.
Btw - may I ask if MSFE is also working together with RSpamd - do you know by chance? Thank you

I noticed an issue with the File Manager. When you work as an admin in DirectAdmin and login as a user you see the black bar at the top. When you go to the file manager, the black bar is blocking the top of the screen (with breadcrumbs and search), so some extra space is needed.

We already have such report and developers are notified.
I expect @fln will check it closer and decide if it should be fixed as HotFix or it will be done in the next release of DA.

We had the similar request/issue related to CS Mail Queue (CMQ) PlugIn from Config Server and that PlugIn does not have the way using /var/lib/csf/csf.da.skip file. I suppose the same situation is with MSFE.
I think developers have some ideas how it can be fixed, but as PlugIn comes not from us, but from Config Server company, we cannot modify/edit it.
I recommend to start chasing Config Server support and developers to update their PlugIns for DirectAdmin.

And @fln knows more about it, so he will be able to add more details and correct my answer if I missed something :)

Already asked, will post reply and fix here when received.

Thanks for the feedback. We have pushed out an update with the following changes:
  • Removed the user impersonation bar from File Manager. We expect it to be introduced in the upcoming releases, but it is too early for it in this release. Thanks @JosKlever.
  • Fixed styling of user impersonation bar user selector.
  • Added a temporary workaround for the ConfigServer plugins to continue working without problems. We have reached out to the developers and got confirmation it will be improved from their side as well.
The root cause for the ConfigServer plugins failing to load was a check inside the plugin code that checks for the parent process name. Because of the changes in how plugin processes are started, the name is not the same as before and caused the plugins to stop working. The fix from the plugin side is just to stop checking the name of the parent process. The fix from our side is to continue using the same process name as before.

Is there a known issue with the latest update (DirectAdmin has been updated to v1.671) that causes directadmin and php-fpm (all sites/instances) to almost non-stop spike CPU and php to run out of memory (which it never did before this update)?

Regrettably updated multiple vps'es, as the first one seemed alright at the time) and all have exactly the same issue and some of these are 1 page (WP/Elementor) websites or even 1 site on a vps only. It seems to affect all different php versions (v7.x and v8.x) installed.

Never had the following issue before the update we did today:

Resource: Virtual Memory Size
Exceeded: 515 > 512 (MB)
Executable: /usr/local/php81/sbin/php-fpm
Command Line: php-fpm: pool

Resource: Virtual Memory Size
Exceeded: 572 > 512 (MB)
Executable: /usr/local/php83/sbin/php-fpm
Command Line: php-fpm: pool

Resource: Virtual Memory Size
Exceeded: 613 > 512 (MB)
Executable: /usr/local/php83/sbin/php-fpm
Command Line: php-fpm: pool

Resource: Virtual Memory Size
Exceeded: 519 > 512 (MB)
Executable: /usr/local/php74/sbin/php-fpm
Command Line: php-fpm: pool

(just added some screenshots to illustrate, but didn't manage to grab the ones with 10+ sites running at > 75% all at the same time)

I have the problem too, just ensure full restart all php-fpm, it should comeback to normal.

It weird. that's why I still not report this issued.

Thanks but tried that and even a rebuild of each php version ....still no joy :-(
(Oh, and also tried a restart of directadmin, but still runs at >150% regularly) and even a reboot of the server .. all to no avail.)
