Ive sent 3 emails to directadmin support but no response.

is anyone around?

we had to turn away some business because we couldnt fix the problem

If you want help from the community then you have to tell us what the problem is.
 
I've got a pretty serious issue I need help with, emailed DA support, and no support either. More than 24 hours since I emailed them, going on 48.

Pretty sad.
 
As DirectAdmin staff has stated previously on these forums, this is not their official support venue. If email to DirectAdmin isn't working for you, then you should try the DirectAdmin Safe Submit Page.

You should also check your spam filters.

DirectAdmin staff has told us repeatedly that they answer all support requests and if you don't get an answer it's either because they don't get your email, or you didn't get theirs.

It's a shame that I have to wait 48 hours to conclude "Directadmin didn't get my email" and send it again.

How would you rate that kind of support Jeff ?
 
Yes it is a shame it took you that long to figure it out.

DirectAdmin can only respond to support requests that it receives.

Using the safesubmit form guarantees they get the request. That link is posted well over 300 times here in the forum. However you still have to make sure you can receive mail from them.

Well, first of all, we still don't know if they recevied it or not. So saying "it's a shame it took me that long to figure it out" (implying I have some kind of mental speed processing disorder) is not valid.

In any case you could say "it's a shame I waited that long before trying a different method of contact" but the first method should have worked, and I already found the solution in the forum, so that's not valid either.

Sending an email to a support department should not be a taboo. And again, that's why a recommened a ticket system, and again the real shame of it all is that we have to recur tu other than NORMAL methods to contact DA just to get help. Especially URGENT help.

So, do you think it's normal that emails to support fail, and that we have to contact them via a secure form, and that there is no ticket system for a web hosting control panel company in March of 2010 ?

Jesus Christ , give me break.

Directadmin needs to get thier stuff together soon.

Do you really have that many support problems where this is even an issue? Would you really be submitting that many tickets where you require a ticket system?

My background: average high school graduate, construction worker for 15 years, self-taught computer person. Basically I am an idiot.

Since I have started using DirectAdmin my support question to them amount to a total of 4, 1 in 2005, 2 in 2006, 1 in 2007.

Every other question or problem I have had has been answered here on the forum or doing a google search.

The question is not why can't I get support from DA, but why do I need so much support from DA.
 
Common Floyd, relax. I'm not trying to compare us.

I am trying to help Directadmin become a better prepared company. Better prepared to attend my problems. Becuase, as you have just mentioned, I really have very few problems. Few enough to piss me off when I have a real problem I can't seem to resolve and I get no help from DA.

If you think it's OK for DA to keep thier current support system, just becuase I don't have many issues, then you are just basing your response on my experience.
 
I just feel like at some point we have grow up to be administrators and be able to do some research on our own without all the hand holding from DA.
 
i still dont get why you dont try to ask here in forum.. MAYBE some of us should help you out with your issue.

I used DA support like 1 time in 5 years.. rest of the time.. forum was more then enough and people here very gentle to try to help me out in everysituation login in my box aswell

So.. before get mad about support, try ask here maybe someone had your same problem or a trick for help you out no? ^^
