DirectAdmin's File Manager, is there ability to extract/compress files ?

Hi a lot of users are wanting the ability to extract and compress files from the control panel.

I can see why this is a strong needed feature because a lot of the times they would compress files and upload them for faster transferring, instead of uploading files one by one.

Anyone know if this is possible or if there is some solution to this dillema?

You can already both extract and compress using the File Manager in DirectAdmin.

To extract, simply upload a compressed file (tar.gz) using ftp (or via the file manager), browse to it using the File Manager, and then click "Extract".

To Compress, go through the File Manager ticking the files you wish to compress, and clicking "Add To Clipboard", then at the bottom of the File Manager page you'll see where you can compress all clipboard files into a tar.gz
