I am not sure if this has been covered before as i was unable to find a definitive answer using search or Google. I was curious if it was possible to disable certain features for different users. I have a package that i give out to friends and family for free but i wanted to take some features away to avoid confusion. For example none of the people i host really require a database so i would like to remove phpmyadmin links from the userpanel. Another would be the "installed perl modules" can this easily be done? Would i just have to create a custom template? If any one could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Removing DirectAdmin menu items isn't going to prevent your users from accessing such functionality. If they really want, they can still directly surf to the URL's you removed from the menu. So it isn't a proper remedy.

After you create the package customize their site to remove features you don't want.

Then even if you don't change the skin they won't be able to access any features you've turned off.
