Suddenly our customers are complaining that their email clients (primary outlook) are random freeze downloading mails.
The problem is always in pop3 connections

Looking in logs I found this:
(almost every customer in server have the problem)

Code:
Nov 5 11:06:35 server011 dovecot[19193]: pop3([email protected]): Disconnected for inactivity in reading our output top=0/0, retr=3/127153, del=8/21, size=2207559, bytes=117/140470
Nov 5 11:06:36 server011 dovecot[19193]: pop3([email protected]): Disconnected for inactivity in reading our output top=0/0, retr=1/0, del=0/95, size=7475228, bytes=27/20026
Nov 5 11:07:00 server011 dovecot[19193]: pop3([email protected]): Disconnected for inactivity in reading our output top=0/0, retr=1/0, del=0/811, size=317306210, bytes=28/66456

Trying disable csf/ldf firewall
Trying updating DOVECOT to last version (2.2.15)
Trying set mail permissions (set_permissions.sh email)

Nothing gave positive results

Any clue?
Thanks in advanced.

You've probably Googled and found nothing worthwhile, as I have. The only thing I can think of is that for some reason there are Internet connectivity issues to your server.

In case I'm wrong you might want to check Dovecot Support:

A "strange" workaround that i found, is to configure the client (outlook, thunderbid, etc) to use a SSL conection, port 995 in pop3 settings, then the email download without problems.

DNS problem?
Any ideas?

Thanks for the answer.

Just for close this topic.
We discover a misconifugered router/gateway in our network. This CISCO router is dropping the ICMP feedback message, so never reaches the sending machine, and the connection times out. Changing this machine solved the problems.

Thanks ;)
