Hello,

When disk quota is exceeded for an account it looks like all the e-mail is gone (in any mail client or webmail).
My clients are shocked when that happens.

Why is that? And most important, is there a way to prevent that (except off expanding the disk quota) by making a config change?
I have looked for it, but did not find anything about it.

Thank you.

Benjamin

Because it disables the account. Nothing should be able to work. If you want to allow overselling there should be an option for it in the reseller settings.

Thnx for replying.

Well, that's only when the account is suspended right?
I don't suspend the accounts.. so it's something different i guess.

As good I can recollect, if quota is exceeded exactly with files (not because of MySQL dbs), you can not work with email boxes via web-interface and probably with offline clients such as OutLook, TheBat, etc. Of course there might be other restrictions while no file (even temporary) can be created on disks in such a case.

1) someone needs to be shocked, so the problem gets solved :).

2) The problem is that when the quota is exceeded nothing new can be written, and your delivery mailserver needs to write as the user to allow email pickup.
