Hello,

My dns is not working and I thought maybe you guys could help me.

I've setup the nameservers in directadmin according to the guide.

But I tried to change my nameservers on my domain today and I got a few errors which I can't solve myself.

errors=3, warnings=2, informational=0
* domein jnpcomputers.nl.
* nameserver ns1.jnpcomputers.nl./80.69.87.181
W SOA refresh (7200) < 4 uur (zie RFC1537)
E nameserver ns1.jnpcomputers.nl./80.69.87.181 adverteert nameserver ns1.transip.net. niet (TE.6a)
* nameserver ns1.transip.net./80.69.69.69
E server is niet 'authoritative' voor jnpcomputers.nl.
* nameserver ns2.jnpcomputers.nl./80.69.87.182
W SOA refresh (7200) < 4 uur (zie RFC1537)
E nameserver ns2.jnpcomputers.nl./80.69.87.182 adverteert nameserver ns1.transip.net. niet (TE.6a)

Sorry that some of the above is dutch.
The errors say, that ns1 & ns2 are not advertising ns1.transip.net.
And that the server is not authoritative for jnpcomputers.nl

I hope you guys could help me

Thanks for the reply,

I got these errors from my host in where I tried to change the nameservers from my domain (jnpcomputers.nl) which are now ns1.transip.net & ns2.transip.net to ns1.jnpcomputers.nl & ns2.jnpcomputers.nl

.ps there are no errors now at dns report since i changed it back to the old nameservers, it had a few errors with the nameservers set to ns1.jnpcomputers.nl & ns2.jnpcomputers.nl

I'd change back to the nonworking ones, and study the output of DNS Report.

Then you can always change back to the working ones again.

Jeff

It's changed to non-working ones now, but to be honest I'm not that kind of a hero with dns stuff.

Hi Onno,

Is there maybe another way I can contact you. Since I see that you are dutch maybe we could have a conversation over msn or icq I think that's a bit easier.

I think the problem is that ns1.jnpcomputers.nl and ns2.jnpcomputers.nl are saying that the nameservers for jnpcomputers.nl are ns1.transip.net and ns2.transip.net:
Code:
> server ns1.jnpcomputers.nl
Default server: ns1.jnpcomputers.nl
Address: 80.69.87.181#53
> set type=any
> jnpcomputers.nl
Server:         ns1.jnpcomputers.nl
Address:        80.69.87.181#53

jnpcomputers.nl mail exchanger = 10 mail.jnpcomputers.nl.
jnpcomputers.nl text = "v=spf1 a mx ip4:80.69.87.174 ?all"
Name:   jnpcomputers.nl
Address: 80.69.87.174
jnpcomputers.nl
        origin = ns1.transip.net
        mail addr = root.jnpcomputers.nl
        serial = 2005111703
        refresh = 7200
        retry = 3600
        expire = 1209600
        minimum = 86400
jnpcomputers.nl nameserver = ns2.transip.net.
jnpcomputers.nl nameserver = ns1.transip.net.
I think you want to set your nameservers in DA to be ns1.jnpcomputers.nl and ns2.jnpcomputers.nl, then you can change the domain hosts at your registrar.

Well I had those 2 set in DA but when I tried to change them at my host I got the error. And with DA set to ns1.jnpcomputers.nl & ns2.jnpcomputers.nl subdomains aren't working. I'm still stuck on this but I think I will call the company tommorow, maybe they now a solution.
