Hello,

We have dns servers:

ns1.abc.com
ns2.abc.com

which are situated on Directadmin servers.

But we have also dns servers on third party servers where there is no directadmin system:

ns1.cde.com
ns2.cde.com

On these servers there are some domains of users, which generally points there domains to hosting on directadmin servers.

Because we want to terminate dns servers ns1.cde.com, ns2.cde.com but to avoid of changing delegation of every domain by the users in their registrars is the solution that on directadmin servers we will:

a) with 2 selected ips we will create ns1.cde.com, ns2.cde.com virtual nameservers on directadmin systems.
b) delegate domain cde.com to ns1.abc.com, ns2.abc.com dns servers
c) change ips of ns1.cde.com,ns2.cde.com in the registrar of cde.com domain?

You don't need additional IP#s, and having them won't give you any extra redundancy. Simply change the IP#s of ns1.cde.com, and ns2.cde.com, to point to the same nameservers you currently use. Both at the registrar where cde.com is registered, and at the nameserver(s) hosting the zone files for cde.com.

If you have problems after doing so, and need additional help, then you should start by giving us the correct information both for the nameservers and for any problem domains. Please see here (ntlworld.com) for additional information.

Jeff
