I have a dedicated server that hosts 2 domain names. Yesterday the server crashed and had to be re-loaded, so I'm having to set up Direct Admin again and I can't remember how to do the DNS settings.
The primary domain name: zingerbug.com (which is also the host name - and is set up on the primary IP for the server xx.xxx.xxx.96) is working correctly, but the other one isn't
Here are details:
domain name: zingerbugimages.com
at the registrar the domain is set up with the following info:
ns1.zingerbugimages.com - ip xx.xxx.xxx.97
ns2.zingerbugimages.com - ip xx.xxx.xxx.98
I set up the nameservers under the reseller level like this:
xx.xxx.xxx.97 free ns1.zingerbugimages.com
xx.xxx.xxx.98 free ns2.zingerbugimages.com
Under IP management in the Admin level it looks like this:
xx.xxx.xxx.97 free admin ns1.zingerbugimages.com 255.255.255.0
xx.xxx.xxx.98 free admin ns2.zingerbugimages.com 255.255.255.0
The zone file for zingerbugimages.com looks like this:
ftp A xx.xxx.xxx.96
localhost A 127.0.0.1
mail A xx.xxx.xxx.96
ns1.zingerbugimages.com. A xx.xxx.xxx.97
ns2.zingerbugimages.com. A xx.xxx.xxx.98
pop A xx.xxx.xxx.96
www A xx.xxx.xxx.96
zingerbugimages.com. A xx.xxx.xxx.96
zingerbugimages.com. NS ns1.zingerbugimages.com.
zingerbugimages.com. NS ns2.zingerbugimages.com.
mail MX 10
zingerbugimages.com. TXT "v=spf1 a mx ip4:66.232.100.96 ?all"
But... zingerbugimages.com still won't resolve.
Clearly, I have done something wrong, but I have no clue what it is. I don't remember this being at all difficult the first time I did it.
I'm grateful for any assistance...
Rebecca
