Do I need Installatron?

Hi there,

I am interested in setting up a managed WP company with hosting. I figured I would need WHMCS to do the admin site of domain registration and billing for the packages in combination with DA. Then I thought of using Installatron to easily install WP, but I am kind of wondering why I would pay a monthly fee for a product (installatron) while I can do WP installs for free myself. So my questions are:

Is there a way to have WP installed automatically (or a yes/no option button for installing) through DA interface without the need for Installatron?
What would be the pro's or cons for this?
What benefit does Installatron give me as the WP manager for multi domains?

You can choose either Installatron or Softaculous. We had both in the beginning and afterwards changed to Softaculous because it worked slightly better and support was great too.
So you might want to consider that option too.

As for the rest I think others can give you a better insight, as I did not use the DA build in WP option yet because I have a licenses which don't have that option.

it wordpress manager (GUI ), combined with wp-cli. You can create hook "domain_create_post" script to automate install wordpress via wp-cli. Obcourse it need manual generate database.

wp-cli just help you download wordpress, install plugins, make some config files like database information.

Thanks for explaining. I will try and get this to work.

You will find installatron better for what you want to do.

1. The installatron page lists all the sites in admin on your server.
2. You can easily update your sites / plugins from there. (Clearly see any updates missing)
3. You can easily login to each site, without having to login to each panel, assuming you put each site in its own environment.

It would be great if DA actually did a similar thing for the admin account.

Softaculous works better in our experience, but both can be used.

All things you mentioned can also be done with Softaculous, maybe not 3, not sure, and it also a lot cheaper.

yes 3 is possible. No difference to Installatron. Softaculous is more advanced and has more functions. We used both for years together, and finally dropped installatron, now only using softaculous.
