Does directadmin have an IP recorder somewhere?

I have two directadmins. One on a shared hosting where webalizer seems to have been installed by the managed hosting. And another directadmin on a dedicated server. To know the IPs that visited the site in my dedicated hosting, should I have had something like webalizer installed or is there something somewhere inside directadmin that I don't know about? I doubt it but maybe the IPMI records visits? I doubt it but maybe on my dedi, webalizer is already installed and I can't find it?

98% chance this is a stupid question, though :p

Webalizer should be there at user level, also, if you have ssh access, you can check if it is installed or install for example awstats from /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild checking how is configured options.conf file and after (presumng you did set awstats to yes) run ./build awstats.

thanks, i'll get to it for next time

Just to make sure, are Awstats and webalizer the behavioural targeting softwares available for DA, and for anything better we have to use third party sources like statcounter?

Depending on your goals. For now by default it's impossible to have a summarized report for all sub-domains with AwStats/Webalizer, so if you want to see something of the kind, you need to use something different, which is not included into directadmin installation. Google Analytics for instance, or anything else.

Note, data from AwStats/webalizer is based on apache logs, so everything which is logged with apache would be counted with AwStats/webalizer. But other solutions and counters are mostly based on JavaScript, and they might miss some visits of legitimate users and bots.
