Dear fellow DirectAdmin users and its creators,
I've been wondering the past 7 days how to get a Domain Pointer to work.
Since previous year in summer's brake, I've bought an Direct Admin hosting package (User only) at a dutch firm. Now, I want to host 2 DOMAINS on one account.
According to some help and FAQ pages, it's possible to set a domain pointer, redirecting to the main domain.
I've bought an domain on NameAlerts.com and used the NameServer (DNS) to reroute the bought domain (markernst.com) to the dns servers of which my website is hosted on.
You may see for yourself: www.markernst.com
Now, I will explain what I have bought/purchased and what I want to do and use it.
The primairy site and domain is markernst.com (which is forwarded to).
Now, jeffreytomberg.com is not officially a domain, so I guessed I could use domain pointers. But as they told me, they'll be active after 72 hours. Well, I've waited over 75 hours now, and nothing happened.
What should I do?
Should I buy jeffreytomberg.com too, reroute it the same as I did with my markernst.com, and will it work on the seperate domain (used domain administration)?
Does jeffreytomberg.com only work if you make another domain using Nameservers and will jeffreytomberg.com grab jeffreytomberg.com (domain administration) or will it automaticly switch to the markernst.com domain. Since that's the first I've ever created on that server?
I hope you guys can still follow me because I am in need of some help, or assistance.
To conclude my story:
Using 2 DOMAINS on the webhost
- MarkErnst.com
- JeffreyTomberg.com
*- Both are made using domain administration
MarkErnst.com has been bought and rerouted using NameServers
JeffreyTomberg.com doesn't exist
If I need to buy JeffreyTomberg.com and reroute it too, using NameServers, will it automaticly pick up JeffreyTomberg.com?
Thanks for your time and reading this.
Kind Regards,
