I have read a lot of threads about domain alias and email accounts problems and have two options how to make this function more flexible so that it would be possible to create seperate email accounts like [email protected] and [email protected].
1. Make like cPanel
Then email accounts would not be aliased. When creating a new email account, user would have to choose which domain (list of domain aliases + main domain) he wants to use for this email account. If user wants to use the same email account for all domains, he can forward emails from another domain to the main domain.
This would make system more flexiable but it would not be so convenient for users who want to alias email accounts as well.
2. Make an option when creating domain pointer.
When creating domain pointer, now is checkbox for making this domain as an alias. So here can be one more checkbox "Email alias". Default is checked and email is aliased - nothing changed from current situation. But if checkbox is not checked, then user can create seperate email accounts for these domain aliases. When creating a new email account, user would have to choose which domain (list of domain aliases which email is not aliased + main domain) he wants to use for this email account.
This would make system more flexible and users who want to alias emails would not face any problems. In my opinion, this solution for solving "seperate email accounts of aliased domains" problem is the most convenient.
