Domain attaching help

Hi. Someone else owns my domain but they have fully attached it to the hosting. Now apparently I need to attach my osting to the domain.
Can anyone tell me how to do this?
I dont want to go around changing everything incase I do something wrong.
So i figured here was the place to come.

Do you own it or does someone else?

If someone else owns it, then how come you consider it your domain?
