domain pointer * (asterisk)

how is it possible to make domain pointer like

*.domain.com => www.domain.com ? (so it will redirect anything)

when i try to do so i get error:

Unable to add domain pointer Details The domain entered is invalid. It must be of the form 'sourcedomain.com'

Try * without any domain name
