Hello,

I'm having a question about the transfer of a domain.

If i have a domain hosted at a host with direct:admin, what are the steps that i have to do to transfer it to an other.

I know that i have to change dns settings, but is it also necessary to delete the domain from the direct:admin panel?

Hope to read some replies on my question.

Thanks

Are you asking if you have to delete the site from the losing server? No.

But after the site is on the new server you do have to change the nameservers at your registrar to point to the nameservers for the new server.

Hello jlasman,

I'v already made the step that my whole website is moved to an other hosting. And everthing is also working fine. But the problem is that they can't put my website on there nameservers. I thought cause mydomain.com is still on the direct:admin panel of my old host. So i have removed it from there. Before i did this i have changed the nameservers. ;)

Here's a printscreen of my direct:admin if i now entering the panel on my old host. Which i dont use any more. Accept that i have to complete the transfer.

You should make sure your hold host doesn't host the DNS for your domain anymore.

Then you should make sure your new host has a DNS zone file for your domain.

Then you should go to your registrar and tell them to use the nameservers supplied by your new host.

If you still need help be sure to post the domain name, the nameserver names of your old host, and the nameserver names of your new host.
