? what was the problem and what was the solution ?
after all this is an forum to benefit from each others solution

Well, it is simple I removed this because if I have no help from official channels support for sure I won't find it here. I asked the support for documentation how to assign a dedicated IP to a domain (A to Z) every step. I posted a ticket in the morning and first answer was in the evening (and the answer was a question not related with subject). Is this called support? Nothing is changed here, unfortunately. If you can't get help from official channels than nothing make sense. Tech support is just a waste of time. But again this is my opinion.

Hmm than you can better ask it here then
Your solution is here
I tried that before contacting the support and before to post here, but not working. Usually if this is working after changing the IP domain should be redirected to the hostname of the server before complete propagation. Extremely strange ! But like I said there is no clear documentation how to do this correct.

You also need this setting in directadmin.conf:

However, you are correct, there is no step by step (or at least easy) manual and it's quite unclear on how to do this. The manuals on this forum are from resp. 2007 and 2011 which are maybe working but way to old in fact.
Docs need really updated for this. Something for @scriptkitty? @DirectAdmin Support is she still working here and or docs? Last time seen september 2022 according to the profile. Who is doing docs now?

Hi.

If you're talking about this "add_domain_to_domainips" I don't have that in my directadmin.conf.
I am a developer for each apps/ programs I do, I am doing documentation to be clear for my customers. Like this I am doing my life more easy.

Richard, look this is am example how not to write documentation:
cd /root/
wget -O setup.sh https://download.directadmin.com/setup.sh
chmod 755 setup.sh
DA_HOSTNAME={{hostname}} ./setup.sh LICENSE_KEY

The redline will make many people very confused. Just write out "hostname" and will be simple. But the way how installation won't pick up server hostname is beyond my comprehension, and many things like this, that's why the forum here is full of posts. When you don't make good documentation you don't care about your customers just about their pockets.

I know more of these examples, also of things not in use anymore which should be removed from there.
We are already glad there are better docs now than before, but there is still a lot of room for improvement, we share the same opinion about that.
But I do not agree about being it about customers pockets, it's always been like this with helpfiles. And there is so enormous load of new things developped since 2019 a wave of ex CP customers came over, that docs couldn't keep up with development.
And I don't mind. DA is not a CP alike wannebe admin panel, which is also why it's cheaper. And still everybody worked with it for a very long time already. If it was for their pockets they just hired a bunch of people, create better docs and raise prices like CP did. We don't want that.

They are trying to keep prices cheap, but this has to come from somewhere and don't mind. At a certain time they hired Scriptkitty to do the documentation and then things improved indeed. But maybe she's ill or something, since she did not appear here for a long time.
Maybe @fln can explain if something bad happend or who is to update the docs nowadays.

Hi Richard, I want to use DA, but if a response from Tech Support is coming after 14 hours (at the begging of the week, not in weekend) something is wrong. I just hope they will answer my question.

I agree you all, Currently docs is work for Programmer ( Linux experience ), not for normal customer. but docs already improve better than 3 years ago. ( atleast don't make me open my book ). But it should make for all people that want to use panel without linux experince.

Well finally I fixed my issue. It was a network problem with one of my IP (but my mistake was not to check everything and not rely on a panel). But DA told me everything is OK with IPs but was not OK. Anyway DA is a very good panel, but being a developer I want to know exactly (from documentation) what every option is doing, without digging or search forums. In this case was my fault, because I took everything granted by DA. DA was no fault for my problem. Thank you everybody for your help.

GB
