Dovecot convert

Hi

I want to migrate some users to my new server. These users do not use dovecot yet on the current server.

If I execute the following (after restoring the users):

cd /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild
./build todovecot

It will convert these boxes. Will this not cause problems for the current dovecot users on the server?

Not too sure but you might or not have issues with a restore. Anyway just try with one user without changing IP in DNS and see results. And keep us updated please.

Redoing the:

cd /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild
./build todovecot

shouldn't break anything already converted, but if you didn't remove the old directories they'll be converted again, so previously moved users may find that email they've moved or deleted will appear again.

I thought (and I believe that zEitEr also posted above) that the restore to a server running Dovecot should do the conversoin automatically, but youre deleted post says that wasn't your experience, so I've asked John to look at this thread and give us his comments.

Please check http://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=689. It converts mbox to Maildir automatically on restore time if system is using dovecot.
