Dovecot logging?

On FreeBSD servers, dovecot 1.1.6 logs IMAP bytes correctly, like so:

Oct 30 11:26:33 Info: IMAP(user): Disconnected: Logged out bytes=300/54503

On CentOS Linux servers, the latest dovecot I can get is 1.0.7, and it logs like this:

Oct 30 16:27:14 Info: IMAP(user): Disconnected: Logged out

How can I get dovecot to include IMAP bytes in/out on Linux?

Dovecot 1.1.16 on CentOS 4.8:
