dovecot, the new default email for directadmin?

hi

i thought dovecot is now standard with directadmin but when i type service dovecot start, it says service not recognized?

i also do not see anything in ps regarding dovecot

thoughts?

Try this command from the command line of your server:

$ telnet localhost 143

If it's not self explanatory in telling you if dovecot is installed, then post the results.

To exit, type quit and the enter key; you may have to type it up to ten times.

I don't believe it's default - even in new installs it asks if you want to use Dovecot
