e-mail account size limit?

Don't try it if you're using mbox mailboxes.

If you're using Dovecot/Maildir you shouldn't have a problem, but remember these issues:

All the mailboxes will take up space in /home

All the mailboxes will count against the site quota.

I know that we are using dovecot, but how can I check if we are using Maildir or Mbox?

the space taked at /home is not a issue in this case, I am affraid about the backups, not sure if DA backup ftp tool will handle a account with 10GB.

thanks!!

Ricardo.

If you're using a DirectAdmin install of Dovecot, then you're using Maildir.

Whether or not you can create that large a backup depends on your OS and it's limits. Try it, and then restore it elsewhere and do a compare.

Is your total disk space of the hosting account lower than 2GB?As far as I understand there are no restrictions on the size of the email account as long as you have the space needed in your overall quota.

yes, in DA there is no restriction, I've found this restriction at Cpanel 11.25 using X3 skin
