Hi all,

one of my customer hosted on a da server having a problem on sending an email.. here the report

Code:
-----Messaggio originale-----
Da: Mail Delivery System [mailto:[email protected]]
Inviato: lunedì 3 maggio 2010 22.46
A: MYCUSTOMEREMAIL
Oggetto: Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

  ***.***@***.org
SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT
TO:<***.***@***.org>:
    host fw.***.org [194.0.197.130]: 554 5.7.1 Rejected

I dont understand, ive looked a bit on google but founded many version.. the error code seems to mean that my server is on a spam blaclist... or... that the ip dont resolve... or.. The following address fail make me also think that the email is not longer active on remote server

Anyone got some ideas?

Thanks

Ok that is happening to all my server after ive installed spamblocker3 exim.conf

maybe i missconfigured something.. hope jal have some nice hit for me ^^

Go back and carefully read through all of the instructions in the comments.

host fw.***.org [194.0.197.130]: 554 5.7.1 Rejected
There's no sense in not showing us the domain name; we can find it easily enough by an rDNS lookup. If you munged the IP# then of course I've wasted my time guessing.

But let's presume you've given us the right IP#.

If that's the case, then fw.greenpeace.org has told you they've rejected your mail.

A quick google search for 554 5.7.1 Rejected shows that this error message may be returned for many different reasons, so you'll have to contact their postmaster to find out why they're rejecting you.

Before you do that you should check every EDIT point in your SpamBlocker Powered exim.conf file to make sure you've not left anything unedited. Then, after making sure all edit points are addressed, if mail from your server is still refused, then remove the file, and re-install your old exim.conf file and see if the mail then works.

No one else has reported problems in sending mail only because they've updated their exim.conf file.

Jeff

eheh i forgot the IP :P

btw, ive restore the old exim.conf file and the problem persist from two days.

Ill let customer try to use another smtp server for check if is just my ip problem

Thanks for your support

If others are accepting your email, especially gmail, hotmail, yahoo, etc., then you'll really have to ask the postmaster of the domain rejecting your mail.

Ok thanks. But there is a lot of servers where I have the problem. Each time, it is from independant company, owning their servers. So maybe they have special rules.
I will try to contact some of them.

Thanks for your replies, I was afraid to misconfigure something.

Once you find a response from one server admin, it may help you understand how to eliminate the problems from others.
