Editing /etc/my.conf

Hello! Tell how to edit, please, a file /etc/my.conf? I wish to increase max_connections. In "File Editor" such file for editing is not present. Whether It is possible as that to add it there? If yes, as? In advance thanks you for the answer!
 
/etc/my.cnf doesn't exist unless you create. It should be owned by root, so you'll probably have to create it or edit it through a shell login.

Do you have any experience with text editors under Linux/Unix?

If not, then you should pick one and learn it.

Teaching all the intricacies of using various text editors could fill many books, and in fact has. It's not something I can teach in the forum (but perhaps someone else will take it on :) ).
