The recent choice to disable userdir in the new DirectAdmin version has caused big problems for many users, including our company. Our local server systems rely on IP addresses, and this change has caused everything to crash. As a result, our HR department and stock control system are not working, leading to employee downtime and major financial losses. Because of this, our IT department is thinking about switching to a different control panel. I see the decision to disable userdir as an extreme decision. I ask DirectAdmin to reconsider this for the sake of keeping your customers and business stable

Hello. DirectAdmin has quite extensive web server configuration customization support. If the userdir feature is critical for your systems, you can always enable it back by customizing web server configuration. We could help you or the IT department via the support system at https://tickets.directadmin.com/.

However, I would advise against making parts of your infrastructure rely on the IP addresses and userdir feature. Restructuring everything on a virtual host basis could help you improve the overall design of your infrastructure (from a security and reliability perspective).

As a last resort, you could downgrade DirectAdmin and stay on a fixed version to have some more time to prepare for this feature removal.
