Hello guys,

I am busy with setting up a few servers with postfix, mailscanner, spamassassin and ClamAV. I want that email sent to my customers first go through these servers for filtering and then through the mailserver on the hosting server (with DA). My idea was to set the filtering servers as mx 1 (priority 10) and create a second mx record (priority 20) with the DA server ip.

How do I tell postfix (the filtering servers) that it must deliver email to mx 2 (priority 20) ?

If you have a better setup or any recommendations, please tell me.

Have a look at this: http://efa-project.org/

During the initial system setup, it will ask you a few configuration settings and then it will be ready to go!!

Very quick and easy (instead of doing it yourself the long and hard way).

What I don't see on the site is any community discussion on how effective it is, and the methods it uses. The web page says it filers email, not that it refuses any, and once it's received the email and forwards it to your server, the blocklists become worthless.

So I (and I suppose others) will certainly appreciate it when you tell us how effective it is :)

Though I must say I'm not sure if I want to give up the control I have with DirectAdmin, SpamBlocker and SpamAssassin, I'm willing to consider an appliance if it's doing a better job.

Jeff
