No, a lot of newer cell phones support either POP3 or IMAP. If you want a wap interface, you need to install a wap webmail type package.

Here's something to think about...

If you get as many emails as I do you don't want all of them readable on your cellphone, where scrolling, even scrolling through a list of emails, can take a while.

So you might want to set up some very sophisticated filtering/forwarding routine to send email to an address specific to your wapmail client.

Or give out a new address to only certain people.
