When an email user is created is a Ftp account also creaed to go with it? If so how do I log into it with Ftp and Http? If not why the heck not like most other webservers do?
The primary login account does have an e-mail and FTP account already created for it. After that, e-mail and FTP accounts are created individually. That is, an e-mail account is not created when an FTP account is, and vice versa.
Being an ISP we like to give every user Ftp space along with there email address. Very few users actually use it but its there if they want it. Its a pain to add it later since then you must keep track of it so its removed if they terminate service. The RAQ though EOL and buggy allowed the end email user to log into a web interface and change there email password and a few other things also. Some Squirrel mail adons use Ftp to alter a users procmail settings for there account and setup spam filters. If you don't ever implement a email user control panel for spam settings giving each email user Ftp access would allow us to roll our own.
Is there anyway you could add an option that automatically creates an Ftp account with the email user in a future release?
Of course there are other things I want worse. Integrated antivirus and spam filtering. A control panel for each email user to setup there virus and spam filter options. Perhaps even a file manager for there Ftp space.
Thanks for the suggestions. The problem is, DirectAdmin doesn't have that 4th level that a RaQ does (e.g. e-mail/ftp users with their own little control panel). We've had some requests similar to yours, and we do agree that it is a nice feature, but there are LOTS of things that have to come first. I wouldn't expect to see such a feature within the next couple months unfortunately.
That's the third level on RaQs, John; RaQs don't have a reseller level.
And RaQs don't have per-domain email names either. All email addresses on RaQs are linux system users; that's why they can all have ftp and shell logins.
Personally, I like the modularity of DA much better, but we can't please everyone.
