It's kind of hard for any of us to check your logs; we don't have access to your server ;).

Jeff

I don't think any of us are going to be willing to wade through your logs; I was trying to suggest you do it yourself.

What you're looking for is delivery information for email in the /var/log/exim/mainlog file.

If you don't know how to do that and aren't willing or able to learn perhaps you should hire someone to log in to your server and find the problem.

We offer commercial services (we're not cheap); if you're interested in hiring us please contact us as shown in my siglines, below. Note that private messages to the forum take a lot longer for me to respond than email or telephone.

I reinstall the server...

btw, its a shame your post dont try to help at all, but only sell comercial services.

That was a long way around what was most likely a very simple problem.

That's one way to look at it; another way to look at it is to realize that in order to find the problem I'd have to log into your server. That entails both work and responsibility. Our main business is managing and repairing DirectAdmin-based servers, and though I'm happy to help on the forum as time and resources permit, I decided years ago that when I have to log into a server I do charge. I don't think it's fair to my paying clients to work on other's servers without charge, and since DirectAdmin server administration is the main source of business for our multinational company, it's not something I can afford to give away.

What I should have written is that I and others on these forums offer commercial services; I'm sorry I left that part out; it was a simple oversight.

Only sell commercial services? Not really. After you've read all of my 15,500+ posts, then feel free to make that statement if you still feel you can. Aside from the help I offer whenever I'm able (you can be sure I eventually read EVERY post on these forums, though it sometimes takes me a while), I also wrote the exim.conf file used by DirectAdmin, and I paid a programmer to have written the open source Master2Slave DNS replicator which fills a need the authors of BIND (ISC) never thought to include. Both of these products are given away at no charge.

Jeff

I dont to start a "war" with you, just leave my point of view...

If your main core of business is comercial services supporting DA the money you pay to that developer and the exim config you write (the time you spend on that aka money) are peanuts because the products give reputation and free advertise for your company.

more.. of course if is the main core of your business you need to stay informed about all problems who can appear on DA. (that explain the time you spend on forum)

just one advice from a business man to a business man dont advertise directly your products or services, let the users find you.

If I or other person search for comercial services nothing better than a friend recomend your services as the guy who solved the small problem we have someday and have a company focused on DA products.

Regards and peace :)

When you have been helping people here for free for as long as Jeff has then you will have earned the right to criticize.

None of us here are going to spoon feed you the answers. We are not running a school. We give basic answers and point people in the right direction. Its up to you to figure out how to apply the answers you are given.

Jeff told you to check your logs. You asked what logs. If you don't know where the logs are then you definitely should not be running a server because you will be hacked in no time and you first won't even know you have been hacked and second you won't even know how he got in.

Go learn how a server works first and then load DirectAdmin and feel free to ask questions here.

@floyd

1st of all the TOS of this forum dont give RIGHTS to criticize or not.

As i see on your signature you run a company, and that arrogant and rude answer could be bad for your business and because only show to your possible costumers how you can be for people you dont know...

@mods & @admins please lock this topic because this discussions dont serve the DA clients/users.

Customers get treated very well because they pay me very well to do so.

Knowing the answers does not make one arrogant.

@mods & @admins please lock this topic because this discussions dont serve the DA clients/users.

And now you are asking Jeff, you know the one you criticized, to lock this topic. Interesting.

You made your point of view. And none of the moderators deleted your post because yes, you are entitled to your point of view and to make it known.

Do you expect that I wouldn't respond with my point of view? Or are you expecting that only you are entitled to your point of view?

My response was meant to point out that if you read all 15,500+ of my replies you'd notice that I don't only (as you put it) sell my services.

I suppose that's one way to look at it. Another (mine) would be that I spend an average of well over an hour a day on these forums, being as helpful as I can; at least 500 hours a year. My current rate is us$125/hour, so that adds up to $62,500 year. For which I get more than you know. It's a good investment. But it doesn't require me to read and try to analyze your log files. That would be what I'd call a value added service :).

Actually I hire people to do some of that for me.
(that explain the time you spend on forum)
Not really, but it's a good simplification, if you must.
just one advice from a business man to a business man dont advertise directly your products or services, let the users find you.
My advice, one businessman to another would more likely be something like don't antagonize your possible clients, your friends, or your enemies. Just because we're all humans, and all of us from time to time are most likely arrogant, doesn't mean it's good business to consider the arrogance when it's brought to our attention.
If I or other person search for comercial services nothing better than a friend recomend your services as the guy who solved the small problem we have someday and have a company focused on DA products.
From time to time, when no one else has responded with a response, and I'm asked to help, if I cannot because it takes too long to do it pro-bono, I offer my services. I don't see a problem with that.
Regards and peace
I sincerely apologize if I offended you, and I suppose I can apologize in advance in case I offend you in the future. Because I really don't intend to stop offering help, even if I must charge for it, on the DirectAdmin forums. My responses are always within the forum guidelines.

Done.

zongas, please feel free to contact me by PM or email if you'd like to discuss this further. If you purchased a license with support directly from DirectAdmin you can always ask them for support, here.
