Email Problem

I have two domains setup under account.

Two emails were created by default.

But the thing is, I can only log in under both at once with the username "admin".
I cannot login to both accounts at once with [email protected] and [email protected]

What should I do?

"admin" is one mailbox for the system user.

[email protected] and [email protected] are not separate mailboxes.

You do not login with [email protected] and [email protected] at all. You login with admin since it is not a virtual account. Its a system account for the user and exists whether there is a domain or not.

Jet, let's start at the beginning.

First, are you using the DirectAdmin control panel?

If not, you're in the wrong place.

Second, do you own the server? Are you the administrator of the server, and is admin really your username?

If not, give us the real username for the account.

If so, the Floyd has given you the correct information; you only have one admin user, and that's the server administrator. While you can get email as admin it's not a good idea because each time you'd use the email password you'd be sending your server main password in plaintext. Instead you should be using DirectAdmin to create separate virtual email addresses, one or more for each domain.

Note that the username for username-based mailboxes is simply username while the username for a virtual email address is the entire email address.

And just another side note its not a good idea to add domains to the admin user. It complicates things sometimes if you want to move domains to another server. You may never encounter that problem, I know I never have, but its so much easier to prevent the problem by creating another user to put the domains under that to deal with a problem that might come up.
